"I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord" Psalm 27:13-14 |
Psalm 62:5-8 "My soul, wait only upon God; for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times; you people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us." |
Hebrews 10:23 "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for He is faithful who promised." |
Psalm 130:5 "I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, and in His Word do I hope." |
Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." |
Habakkuk 2:3 "For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." |
Hebrews 10:35 "Cast not away therefore your confidence which has great recompence of reward." |
Psalm 145:15-16 "The eyes of all wait upon thee; and you give them their meat in due season. You open your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing." |
Isaiah 25:9 "And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us; this is the Lord; we have waited for Him, we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation." |
Isaiah 64:4 "For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither has the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what He has prepared for him that waits for Him." |
Most of us get so impatient with our waiting, yet a 1000 years in God's sight are but as yesterday when it is past and as a watch in the night.
One thing we can be sure of:
God is never late! God is never a no-show!
|
God knows what the heart of man can endure. He says in Isaiah 57:16 He knows if things go too far, our very spirits and souls would perish. He knows we lose heart and hope, that our eyes fail with looking up for His answer. (Isaiah 38:14)
"Hope deferred makes the heart sick; but when the thing appears it is a tree of life." Proverbs 13:12 |
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord." Isaiah 58:8 |
If we can get past the pride of wanting our answer instead of His, past the pouting and the panic of our as-yet unanswered prayers, we will see He is teaching us to rely on His perfectness, His greatness. |
For every prayer that is yet unanswered we have the joyful expectation that it will be answered perfectly in accordance with His will. |
God Himself provides all we need to wait upon Him! |
